Frequently Asked Questions
Retreats
Unity Village retreats include activities such as prayer, worship experiences, experiential activities, daily meditation, personal rejuvenation and a celebration retreat banquet. Unity retreat staff and the featured speaker work together to design and co-create the retreat theme and to facilitate the schedule of retreat activities.
The celebration retreat banquet is a fun and exciting way to honor participants’ time together. The cost of the banquet is included in the accommodations with meals plan. If you are a commuter who chose not to purchase a meals package, you will still be able to purchase a banquet ticket for $20 when you check in for the retreat.
Where do I check in for a retreat?
Retreat check-in takes place at the Unity Village Hotel and Conference Center, located just off the Colbern Road entrance of Unity Village. Whatever entrance you use, you can follow the green line marked on the road, which will lead you to the Hotel.
What time do retreats begin and end?
Retreat check-in typically takes place between 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hotel lobby, where you can pick up your retreat packet and submit a release form.
Retreats that end on Sunday typically end by 10:15 a.m. so that guests may, if they choose, have the opportunity to attend the Unity Village Chapel Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m. Other retreats that do not end on a Sunday typically end by noon.
On the final day, lunch is included for guests with full accommodations or a meal package. Lunch typically ends by 1 p.m.

Bring a Group
Unity offers a “group coordinator incentive” for each group attending a retreat or workshop at Unity Village. To receive this incentive, the group must include 15 or more participants. Note: The group coordinator is not counted as one of the first 15 participants (he/she would be number 16). One incentive is available for each additional group of 15 or more.
How does the group coordinator incentive work?
Each group member makes their own registration for the retreat or workshop and their on-campus accommodations. The group coordinator compiles a list of all who have registered. Upon arrival, the group coordinator submits the compiled list, containing details for all of the participants to a Unity retreat or workshop staff member. Once Unity has verified the list, a refund for the registration fee, meals and lodging, if applicable, will be made to the group coordinator's credit card. In the event on-campus lodging at Unity Village is sold out, Unity will not reimburse the group coordinator for any expenses incurred for off-campus lodging arrangements.
For group assistance, please call 816-347-5530.
Continuing Education Units (CEU)
Some Unity retreats, workshops and special events may qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEU) through the Department of Health and Human Services at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) for a small additional fee of $12. If qualified, it will be indicated on the event's page.
The procedure for participants to obtain credits (if applicable):
- For verification of time, participants will be asked to sign in each day.
- Participants will receive a CEU form, which they will complete and mail to the JCCC along with the $12 payment.
- Based on the daily sign-in sheets, JCCC will verify participation.
- Participants will receive a certificate of completion from JCCC in which the participant will then file/send to their governing board for credit.

Cancellation Policy
Registration Fee Refunds
Full refunds (less a $40 processing fee) are available, provided the Unity Retreats Department is notified at least eight days prior to the start of a retreat or workshop. For example: For a Saturday arrival, the final refund deadline is Friday, 5 p.m. CT (eight days prior to the event). Please check your retreat or workshop description to see if there is a special cancellation policy.
Registration Fee Credit
Nonrefundable credit (less a $40 processing fee) is available for a future retreat or workshop, provided the Unity Retreats Department is notified within one to seven days prior to the start of the event. Credit may be applied for one year following the date of issue. Credit may not be used toward housing, meals or amenities.
No registration refunds or credits will be offered if you do not cancel within the guidelines listed above.
Although Unity never anticipates cancelling an event, events occasionally must be cancelled due to unforeseeable circumstances. If an event is cancelled, registrants will be notified and offered the option of receiving a refund or credit. Unity does not refund or provide credit for airline tickets in the case of a cancellation. Therefore, Unity strongly advises all participants to refrain from purchasing nonrefundable airline tickets.
