Accommodations

On-Campus Accommodations

Unity Village has a total of 50 rooms at the Hotel and Conference Center and 49 rooms at the Motel. Pricing varies based on room type. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. There may be several events on campus at one time, so lodging may be limited. However, we have established relationships with other local hotels and motels, and we would be happy to provide you their name and phone number should you need off-campus accommodations.

Check-In Time

Check-in time for both the hotel and motel is 3 p.m. Please call ahead if you plan to arrive early, and we will do our best to make sure the room is ready for you. If you arrive early, and your room is not ready, you may hold your bags at the front desk. Checkout time is 11 a.m., although a later time can be requested. If necessary, your bags can be held for you until your departure.

Late Arrivals

All late arrivals should check in at the front desk of the Unity Hotel and Conference Center. If you missed the designated retreat/workshop check-in, your materials and name badge will be at the hotel front desk.

What Should I Bring?

Please bring items listed in the letter sent to you prior to the retreat. You might also want to consider:

  • Sweater—room temperatures can fluctuate.
  • Comfortable shoes—you may find yourself walking the beautiful grounds or nature trails.
  • Rain gear—just in case.

Bring a Group

We offer a “group coordinator incentive” for each group of 10 or more (not including the group coordinator) attending a retreat/workshop at Unity Village. One incentive is available for each additional group of 10 or more.

How Does the Group Coordinator Incentive Work?

Each group member makes their own registration for the retreat/workshop and their on-campus accommodations. The group coordinator compiles a list of those in their group who have registered and provides the list to the Retreat Department at least two weeks prior to the retreat/workshop, including contact information for his- or herself. The group coordinator will need to register and pay for the retreat and make reservations for lodging. Once the group list has been verified and the retreat has ended, the group coordinator will be credited for registration, meals and accommodations. We will not be able to reimburse off-campus lodging costs.

For assistance with booking a group, please call 816-347-5530.

Continuing Education Units (CEU)

Some Unity retreats, workshops and special events may qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEU) through the Department of Health and Human Services at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) for a small additional fee of $12. If qualified, it will be indicated on the event's page.

The procedure for participants to obtain credits (if applicable):

  • For verification of time, participants will be asked to sign in each day.
  • Participants will receive a CEU form, which they will complete and mail to the JCCC along with the $12 payment.
  • Based on the daily sign-in sheets, JCCC will verify participation.
  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion from JCCC in which the participant will then file/send to their governing board for credit.

Transportation

Although Unity Village does not provide transportation to or from the Kansas City International Airport (MCI) , the following shuttle services are available:

  • BATS: 913-634-5484, www.BATS-KCI.com.
  • Serving You, LLC: 816-522-3582 (cash payments only), glsjds@hotmail.com (Type "Serving You" in the subject line).
  • American Luxury Limousine: 800-861-1071.

The Kansas City International Airport (MCI), also known as KCI, is approximately a 60-minute drive from Unity Village, so please allow at least 90 minutes between the time you depart from the airport and the time you want to check in for the retreat/workshop.

For your return home, please arrange your shuttle service back to the airport at least three hours before your flight's scheduled departure time.

Event Ticketing

When a lecture is included during a retreat/workshop, those registered for the entire retreat/workshop will receive free admission. Tickets for lectures open to the general public will be available at the door prior to the event. Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Registration Fee Refunds

Full refunds (less a $40 processing fee) are available, provided Customer Care is notified at least eight days prior to the start of a retreat/workshop. You may contact Customer Care at 1-866-348-6489 (Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT).

Although we never anticipate cancelling an event, events occasionally must be cancelled due to unforeseeable circumstances. If an event is cancelled, registrants will be notified and offered a refund or credit for registration and meals. The hotel will also be notified to cancel room reservations. We cannot refund or provide credit for airline tickets in the case of a cancellation. Therefore, we strongly advise all participants to refrain from purchasing nonrefundable airline tickets
