Our breathtaking grounds provide the perfect backdrop for your most cherished memories. Whether you’re taking graduation photos, planning an engagement shoot, or a family portrait, please read our guidelines before you head to Unity Village.

Effective April 1, 2025, no professional photography allowed on Friday and Saturday. Professional photography is allowed Sunday through Thursday, dawn to dusk.

2025 day pass: $250, annual pass: $500

Permits Required

Professional/Commercial Photography

Not permitted on Fridays or Saturdays. A permit is required for all professional or commercial photography.

Personal Photography

You are welcome to take casual snapshots for personal use, but please avoid disrupting guests or scheduled events.

Closed Areas

Certain locations, such as the Fountain Courtyard, may be closed for private events on specific dates. Please check ahead to plan your visit.

FAQs

Do You Need a Photo Pass?

You will need a photo pass for:

  • Paid photography services or client shoots
  • Using the space as a studio
  • Commercial, promotional, or advertising work
  • Selling images (including fine art or nature photography)
  • Formal posed portraits (weddings, engagements, family photos)

No photo pass is needed if:

  • You’re using a single-lens camera or phone
  • The photos are for personal use
  • Your group has fewer than 10 people
  • No props or professional equipment are involved

To ensure a positive experience, please follow these guidelines:

  • Hours: Professional photography allowed Sunday-Thursday only, until dusk.
  • Restricted Areas: Stay out of restricted zones.
  • Traffic Flow: Don’t block movement of employees, vehicles, or visitors.
  • Residences: Avoid photography near private homes.
  • Attire: Wear appropriate clothing and ensure photo subjects do too; swimwear photography is not allowed.
  • Respect Nature: Don’t disturb flowers or plants.
  • Scheduled Events: No photography during weddings or other events.
  • Structures: Avoid sitting, standing, or lying on structures or railings.
  • Minors: Anyone under 18 must be with a parent or guardian.
  • Drones: Not allowed without prior approval.
  • Compliance: Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the property.
  • Content Restrictions: Photography depicting illegal or prohibited actions is not allowed. Unity reserves the right to prohibit and require the removal of any images that do not align with our values.

Pass Requirement: All professional photographers must display an official “Approved Unity Photographer” badge while on the property. Passes are nontransferable.

Hours and Locations: Photography is permitted Sunday-Thursday only until dusk, outdoors only. No indoor backup spaces are available.

Facilities: Public changing areas and restrooms are not available.

Props: Only biodegradable florals are allowed. No faux flowers, confetti, or balloon popping.

Drones: Drones are prohibited without prior approval.

Enforcement: Failure to display your photo pass may result in removal from Unity Village or trespassing charges.

1-Day Pass: $250
Annual Pass: $500
After purchase, you will receive a receipt page that you can print or save, along with a confirmation email. Bring your receipt to the Unity Village Hotel and Conference Center to receive your official badge.

  • Annual Pass: $500 (valid for one calendar year)
  • Day Pass: $250

A permit is required for commercial use of images taken at Unity Village. Please credit them as follows: “Location: Unity Village, Missouri (unityvillage.org).”

For social media, tag us:

  • All annual passes expire on December 31.
  • If a day pass isn’t returned, it will automatically upgrade to an annual pass at the current rate.
  • If paying by cash or check, we’ll hold a valid driver’s license in exchange for the day pass, returned upon its return.
  • All proceeds from badge sales support the upkeep of our grounds.
